Jimmy Hudson, Guitar Teacher, Columbus and Dublin Ohio
I am a 4th Generation Professional Musician who grew up with my Daddy playing guitar, banjo, and singing in bands and my mom working for radio stations so some of my earliest memories in life where music and it was always a way of life for me. I grew up playing on the world famous Beale Street in Memphis TN where I am from.
I have had some great guitar teachers over the years including my first teacher Rockabilly Legend Chuck Hughes, Joe Gamble, Shawn Lane, Barry Richman, Carl Cullpepper, Sid Wolf, Jimmy Herring, Bill Hart, and others. I am also an honors graduate of the Atlanta Institute of Music.
I was Shawn Lane's tech and student for almost 9 years and learned so much in that time as Shawn was a true genius and musical prodigy and was untouchable on the guitar and still is. He left a mark on the guitar and jazz fusion community that was of legend status much like Jimi Hendrix, Coltrane, Bach, Mozart, etc.
I have spent many years on the road as a touring guitarist playing border to border, coast to coast and have performed over 200 shows a year for many years with all kinds of bands in many different styles and have worked in some of the top studios in the country.
I am also the founder and original owner of the world renowned American Guitar Institute in Memphis TN where some of our students have been featured on national radio and television including Jay Leno, and David Letterman and other students have earned scholarships and or acceptance into some of the top Music Schools in the country. I have taught hundreds if not a couple thousand students over the last 20 plus years and I have experience and passion that you will just not get from anyone else or anywhere else.
